I was brought to CrossFit by the rise of the growing sport and had friends who really encouraged me to join. My first impression was “Wow, what a welcoming community”. I felt welcomed and comfortable with both the athletes and the coaches.
My first “bright spot” was when I completed a ring muscle-up. Although I was nervous because a bunch of athletes were watching, it felt great to have other people support you towards your goals. Right now, I am currently working on “hip-extension” for required lifts. I am looking to explode with the hips so that I can lift heavier weight.
If I could give myself advice from a year ago, I would tell myself to immediately sign up for Bear Mountain Crossfit. I was told about BMCF months before I joined and I wish that I had started earlier. Everybody helps/pushes each other and the coaches are there for you to utilize. Nothing about that has changed.
